Was this washed at all jt or straight out the primary? Have you reused it yet?

That was straight from primary. fermented 14 days about 12c + a d-rest then racked.
Did all the sanitising things, swished a litre of cooled boiled water around the primary and then filled a 1 litre bottle.
Settled overnight in the fridge to the 400 ml slurry in the pic above.
Took it out in the morning and repitched 200 ml and got a really good beer on the go, think it's better than the first (well the first was a bit shabby really)
Had a hydro sample / taste tonight - 1.042 to 1.009 in 10 days at 12-13c
50/50 whether I go one more this weekend or if I go for a quicj keg filler ale

Great stuff mate. Do you make sure you are transferring crystal clear wort into your fermenter when you're done brewing? My yeast settled out into two very distinct layers, trub and small layer of yeast on top. You seem to have got no trub in there at all. I tend not to worry about getting a bit of trub when I transfer so wonder if that's the difference?

You're right, there was no obvious layering in the slurry I saved.
Usually pretty clean, I filter through a craftbrewer hopsock after I've chilled and a half hour setlling period.
Bought it a few years ago to steep grains in, have also used it as a hopbag in the kettle, but it's best use is filtering my runoff to the fermenter
