Is this as effective as a chilli bin with a port out the side? Looking at doing this myself.

I used it for years and got good at it. I suspect if you are handy enough to do the port out the side with a built in manifold then this would be better though. Occasionally the manifold would break apart or the tube would come out and then it is a pain to fish the thing out of a bin full of hot mash! But to get up and running with full mash brewing it was very good

Ok, yeah, I have a chilli bin that doesn't have a port. So I will adopt this as my method i'd say. Thanks for the quick reply. I might just go down to the plumbing shop and knock a whole system up out of PVC pipe including a PVC pipe that will come up and out of the chilli bin, instead of the flexible hose like you have, Might help stop it falling apart when you move the hose around. At the moment I'm just doing it all loose grain and scooping it out with a pyrex jug, which is not very efficient...
