Thanks for the heads up.

Mean, actually getting hard to find any in chch now might get the old man to pick up a few
Just back from Palmy and purchased one of each while up there. Must say, like the Epic Lager from bottle vs. keg - was not overly impressed from bottle but keg awesome. So expected big things from Armageddon but was disappointed in the bottle - not tried off tap yet but am sure will be impressive. Fresh Choice in Richmond does not have these yet......thanks Daniel, appreicate the heads up!
Agreed. Any craft beer in this country struggles for freshness the further it gets from where it is made.

Distribution and turnover in stores is always going to be a battle. Also stores buying more than they need for a reasonable turn over period

In a perfect world it would always be fresh from the brewery. I make an effort to only make enough beer, so that a batch has sold out within 3 to 4 weeks max. So then you would expect that it would be on the shelf for no more than 3 or 4 weeks meaning that it would therefore only be 6 to 8 weeks old.

Problem I am finding is sometimes there are extra sets of hands for it to pass through to get it to the far reaches of the market. This adds time. :-(

Therefore this time is being extended out possible 3, 4 or even 5 months.

I am always on the hunt to find these outlets with Epic to find out how to remedy the problem, which sometimes results in them no longer stocking.
Well now that I have found an outlet in Nelson I will be doing my part to keep the turn over regular!

I have not had the privilage of sampleing either on tap yet, so I cannot offer any comparisons personally at this stage, although I do remember thinking the Mayhem seemed a touch on the flat side from the bottle but with out a control not the greatest observation.

I remain pretty dam extatic at this point however that I at least have access to both Mayhem and Armageddon (for the time being at least) and no longer have to tolerate my Auckland buddies rubbing my nose in the fact I had not sampled an Armageddon!!
