Hi, I have grown a coopers yeast starter from bottle dregs of their pale ale. It smells good, I aim to use it for a pale  ale this weekend. I have heard it likes to ferment on the colder side for an ale yeast around 16c. Anyone have any experience with this?

Cheers

My Cooper Pale Ale yeast starter is now smelling of banana and wet socks and only down to 1030 after a week. Down the loo it goes

I thought banana would be pretty good for Coopers - wuldn't be so happy with the wet socks though.

Did you brew the pale with a different yeast ?

US05 it was in the end, should be a refreshing summer quaffer. I probably would have still given the Coopers a go but the fact it was so slow attenuating put me off.
