Mash Tun Specific Heat  I think this is used to calc the correct water temp to add to your mash tun to hit strike,  My kegs weigh more then the us ones so I needed to change the weight of mash tun so that I was adding the right amount of water at the right temp so that once I mashed in grains it hit the right strike temp.

IE add 17.6L of 78C water to a 18C stainless 50L keg mash tun -> then the tun and water is 72C  giving a 67.5 temp after mash in etc

As to where you learn I am sure there is plenty of stuff on the website, I tend to learn from others running BS   we all seem to know a bit about a different area of the software...

Gladfields link for BS

http://www.gladfieldmalt.co.nz/wp-content/uploads/Gladfield-Malts-U...

unzip then open this in BS,  highlight and copy the GF grains then go into the ingredients grains and paste

Thank you Peter! Now all I need is an update for NZ hops and yeasts.

in beersmith goto file > addons   then click the big +
