I hear you all asking yourselves... "What do I do with this 21 Liters of fermented beer, when I can only fit 20 to the lip of my corny?" Well - I have the answer for you... either drink it flat, or chuck it in the soda stream machine! Step1: When you are half way through racking into the keg, fill up a soda stream bottle.

Make sure you dont overfill the bottle.

Step 3: Give it a few nudges of CO2 - dont pump it up too much.

Step 4: Drink the fizzy beer!!! This is the light ale that I brewed with my home grown Danscade. Initially I thought that the beer had acetaldehyde in it, but upon closer inspection I have discovered that it is aroma contributions from my hopping. It's like fresh green pears - and nectarines. Definately different to Cascade. Still needs conditioning though - and cold is the way to go. Cheers.

I normally bottle condition the extra litre, I have a box of odd bottles and it quickly builds up - makes for good drinking when the kegs long gone..

choice. Just last week I scored a soda stream machine w gas bottle for $1 from local op shop. need some bottles though. I also got one of those carbonation caps that you can put onto any plastice bottle and carb with the keg.

My extra ends up as "starter juice" for my yeast! Freeze it in snaplock bags.

When I kegged my Red Ale, I had to dip the lid into the surface of the beer in the keg! When I turned the gas on - you could hear the bubbles going in! Then - when I was burping the keg, beeg went flying out of that hole too!

I drank a liter out of that keg - like straight away... I wanted to try the beer through my creamer. It was pretty crap.

Creamer?
Comment by JoKing on April 28, 2009 at 4:07pm
Yeah - like what they use on nitro beers to cream up the head with no carbonation.
