Who would be a Hop farmer.....

Posted on March 1, 2013 at 9:28pm 1 Comment

Just picked my first Hop crop! Seven plants took ages to pick so i thought I has a fair few brews sorted, all up about a fish bin full of cones. However after drying it looks like the whole lot will weigh in at a princely 600 grams, Glad I'm not a hop farmer!

Progress on brewery

The new 3V system I have been building for the last 6 months or so is starting to look OK now I have 2x 100L pots and the KAB4 burner from the states. The burner is rated at 210,000 BTU's so hoping to chop some time off each brew, may lose some arm hair in the process tho! Just got to make a counter flow Chiller , get some valves and thermometers and it ready to go.

Hi Scott,

Thanks for the welcome.

I fear you have me mistaken for somebody else as I am not familiar with the rugby club rooms nor can I place Alice! (Profane version of "Living next door To Alice" springs to mind)

I am looking forward to meeting and learning from local home brewers. Any plans for a get together?

Cheers

Jaimes

Hi Scott,

I plan to be at the Inaugural Tasting. I'll bring some of my latest brew. I hope it can withstand the onslaught of discerning critics.
