Hey mate sorry bout the lateness, ive been out of town. The haksaw cuts in the rollers are probably about 2-4mm deep. I made the cuts as rough as possible so there are lots of jagged edges to pull the grain through.

To motorize it I just made a bit the fits into a battery powered drill, it takes me about 30 mins to do a 6kg batch but I can set it up and let it run while getting other bits and pieces ready.

Hey sorry for the late reply!
The man you want this year is Fraser Kennedy: http://www.ucsa.org.nz/clubs/abc/

Cheers :)

Hey guys, I found one of these pasta makers at kmart for $15 which I was pretty stoked about.

I've built a little rig out of mdf for hack sawing the rollers, just wondered if either of you had a picture I could look at?  Just wanting to see how close together the cuts are?  Did it take long? (seems like it would).

RickyP, did you find any rhizomes?  I've got a couple of smoothcones but I'm in Hamilton.

Hey, cheers for your replies :)

I have a sanding/grinding sort of drill bit that I might try.  As for rhizomes, I just have two cuttings I took from last year so they would probably be ok as long as the heat didn't get them while in the mail.
