Amended from above Sept 2015: Two-monthly, the Western Brewers Conference holds a brewing competition. The rules are simple: $10 to enter - all except for 2nd place who wins their entry fee back. At the end of the competition, the brewer who places third chooses the next style to brew. Choices are for 4 months hence so there is time to brew a lager if so chosen.

Judging starts at 3 pm.

I reckon (depending on the yeast) a ferment can still be slightly clean with a warmish ferment, ive fermented with 1469 at 24*c a couple of times and its not overly funky or anything.. And dont even get me started on US-05, that shit ferments clean up to like 26*c :oP lol

Yep, twice. There's only 10L of the first one, but it's tasting quite good. Nice balance between banana and clove, a hint of phenolic spice, and a good summer quaffer. The second one was brewed yesterday. Same recipe but on a larger scale. Pitched onto the yeast cake and as of this morning it had already climbed out of the airlock and all over the inside of my fermentation fridge! :( Ah well, at least it's a healthy fermentation.

Mines a bit out of style... so might have to Judge this one... I'll still enter the beer though.
