This beer was one of my first recipes, designed from snooping on forums like this, it was brewed 5L using BIAB. It was targeted as clone of a well known green bottled European beer from the flatlands but with a little more bitterness.

This batch was the first time scaled up to the Grainfather and also hop spider which seems to have lessened the bitterness somewhat. Its pretty much ready to drink, in bottle about 4 weeks so another week at room temp wouldn't…

This beer was meant to be a laid back Kiwi take on an American Pale Pale, A pretty straight forward recipe, crash chilled this and wound up leaving it for about 6 weeks at 0.5 degrees due to life getting busy so some of the hop aroma has left the building.

Biggest concern at this point is carbonation, a bit of a rushed cluster when it came to bottling. may have under primed, had been kegged for a couple of days and wasn't sure how much CO2 was already in there, will have to see how…

The process goes something like this:

Brew a beer you're proud of and want other brewers to try and give feedback on.

Post your recipe as a separate thread in the NZ case swap group - feedback from others'll be posted under your own recipe thread.

The process goes something like this:

Brew a beer you're proud of and want other brewers to try and give feedback on.

Post your recipe as a separate thread in the NZ case swap group - feedback from others'll be posted under your own recipe thread.

Bottle it up in 750s - plastic bottles are best as they have to be shipped around the country using "smash and stomp" courier service. Plastic being lighter also keeps the costs down a bit too.

How many you send in will depend on the interest we get ----> total number to contribute = number of brewers in the swap minus 1

Get your beers to a central point under your own steam.

The organisers then make up a bundle of mixed cases and send them out.

Receive your case, chill, drink and enjoy while giving feedback on the beer to the brewer via their CS recipe thread.

I'm happy to be the Auckland depot again this time around.

If we get a few interested from Wgtn/ ChCh or elsewhere it might be good to have local "hubs" and organisers there too. Shipping with NZ post to Auckland (assuming this is the only depot as it was last time, that we've got 13 brewers and everyone is using PET bottles not glass is about $20 from the North Island and $35 from the South.

Redistribution costs split over the lot of us came to about $10 each.

So to summarise costs, if Auckland is the central point, are:

$10 for Auckland brewers who drop off and pick up in person

$30 for other North Island brewers

$45 for South Island brewers

How does that all sound?

All that said last time there where only AKL people and it was free... sometimes I stump up the WGTN courier fees from a side line business I have, lets see what happens we try to do this as cheaply as possible.

This one was a bit of a mess as the first time round trying to brew it my mill didn't work, so I had to leave it for a week until I could buy some crushed grains. This meant there was only a week to get it ready for a party we were hosting. It was ok at the party but hadn't cleared by then. Hopefully it is better now... well I'll find out soon enough.

I Was shooting for a English brown ale but I would consider it more of a standard NZ draught. As for labelling it's the one with a # on…
