Just getting gear together to start making yeast starters so I can start making yeast slants to build up a yeast library,

Just wondering if anyone knows what beers have which strain of yeast in them and of course which ones I get score some yeast from, thinking this way makes more sense as I get to drink most of the product before cultering yeast from it,

Also where are people getting the little vials for slanting from for the best price?

a 30kg sack of pale malt from gladfield was $55 time last time i bought one, most brew shops are pretty reasonable on sack prices,or a local brewery might give you a good deal.

I just get it from Gladfields, mind I do buy about 4 to 6 sacks of grain at a time to make it worth while, they are excellent to deal with and they have increased there range hugely since they got all there new equipment,

I am not sure whether is just good luck but I am getting excellent results from there grains, normally aim for around 20 L batches but generally get 22 to 24 Litres at the right SG once adding sterile water after racking to fermenter so needless to say I am a big fan of there grains
