Any one know an email address for this company? I tried a second beer from them last night a Porter's Rye, only to find it horribly infected. I should have known better after the first bottle I tried was a gusher, but I don't like to write off a New Zealand brewery over an infected beer. Two different beers months apart however... Well lets just say I wont be going back to this particular brand.

I thought they would like to know (or perhaps they don't) that there must be a serious quality control problem somewhere along the line.

the email I got from the brewers guild website info@kaimaibrewing.co.nz is out of action.

Interestingly I also had a threeboys golden ale that soured and foamed into my glass a few weeks ago.

Anyone else have stress dreams where they are stalked by wild microbes?

From Beer Advocate (don't know about the phone number maybe 0508?)

PO Box 10121
Mount Maunganui, 3116
New Zealand (Aotearoa)
phone: +64 058-874-783

They also have a twitter account but not used - https://twitter.com/Kaimaibrewing

And another phone number from Brewers' Guild: +64 274 874 783

And this thread from the forum, says it is (was?) run by Andrew Larsen who is a consultant in the brewing industry - http://www.forum.realbeer.co.nz/forum/topics/kaimai-brewing-co

Hope some of that helps.

Thanks.... I found another email through his consultancy website.... And I also found a trail of bad reports from other patrons, seems its not an isolated case of the bugs unfortunately

Kind of weird because the article says it is brewed on either the Croucher or Harrington's equipment. Well at least that was the case back in 2009/2010.

CHeers for putting that straight Dave. Do you know where it is brewed now?

I'm pretty certain those are fairly aged bottles (I think it was last brewed in 2010) and they have some brettanomyces going on in them. Some would consider this a pleasant feature! Perhaps one person's infected beer is another's sour delicacy?

I must admit I didn't look at the date.... Im all for a sour beer when its brewed accordingly, these were just plain wrong! I don't expect I'll hear back form the owner to be honest.

I almost don't want to mention them in this same thread, but Three Boys got back to me and were very quick to send me an overly generous replacement of quite possibly the best golden ale in the world. So respect to them!
