I have a bit of time on my hands now looking after my young son, Luke, so to filltime I am looking at the possibility of writing a book about the history of New Zealand breweries.

There are a couple of breweries that I need help with, hopeflly someone out there can help.

Edmonds Brewery in Petone, could have also been called Petone Stream brewery, from 1847?

also Amazulu Brewery, was loctated on K'rd Auckland, is not the Malthouse brewery is from late 1980's

But if you have other info on other breweries that would help

Thanks

Chris

I don't know what anyone else thought, but that was a fascinating converstation to watch through the day.

Good luck with the family tree Dennis & Meri!

I have been interested with a lot of similar things and true enough, you will see a lot of good value in being able to know how breweries have started locally.  For me at least, the earliest record seen is when a few local people have been up in arms with how the imported brews have been paving way to getting to the local market which did not sit quite well for them and that started their bid toward brewing their own.

To all who have watched our conversation, thank you for allowing us to use this discussion forum to trace our family history through the connection of a little old brewery, out of Petone. I now have a start of a relationship with a distant cousin on line that I didn't know  even exsited before. Thank you. Dennis Wadley
