We are:

Hallertau Brewery has been brewing up a storm in tropical North West Auckland since 2005. We really like to brew beer and love the beer we brew. We installed a new 20 HL brewhouse and 12 head filler 2 years ago and on the hunt for someone to keep the beer cranking out.

To do this job you need to be:

*Very good at making beer, especially hoppy and sour beer.

*A bit of a clean freak

*Particularly well organised.

*Good at running and nurturing an enthusiastic brewery team.

*Able to manage production planning so we don’t run out of packaging, malt, hops, beer and good times.

*Master and fine tune brewery systems.

*Able to become firm friends with our house yeast strain.

*OK with the computer stuff and record keeping.

Also with:

*A talent with the dark art of DE filtration.

*An ability to deal with an Owner with lots of ridiculous ideas.

*Good understanding of maintaining a Food Safety Programme.

*Some experience with the whole OSH thing (safety first and stuff).

*Running things lean and mean, while still makin’ delicious beer.

*A desire for each batch of beer to be better than the last.

*The ability to stand next to a bottle filling machine for long periods without going completely bananas.

*Some Lab QC skills like knowing which end of a microscope not to look into.

*Get involved in the odd beer event/tasting and the like.

*A love of all things fermentation

What you need:

*Some sort of beer qualifications would be handy.

*Leadership experience in a busy brewery is pretty important.
