Hi everyone, I stopped brewing and sold off my meager BIAB setup about 3 years ago, and I am going to get back into it.

I am going to do BIAB again with a few refinements and extra kit to make it faster to brew and easier to clean up. I am also going to invest in a pump for whirpool during chilling and wort transfer duties (kettle-fermenter after chill)

I'll be going stainless for the kettle this time and building another immersion chiller which will stay in the kettle full time, I will use a steamer basket to contain the grain bag to keep it from getting stuck and a pulley and pivot system to transfer the gran bag from kettle to another bucket for a sparge step.

I am planning on welding up a frame on wheels with enough storage to keep everything tidy. (I learned to weld after I stopped brewing - rebuilt my boat trailer)

I will be going straight for kegging this time also.

Looking forward to it!

Cheers

Patrick

Welcome back mate. 3 year without brewing? I don't know how you managed it, lol.

Welcome back.

Considering you need to get set-up from scratch again - have you considered going for electric? The Grainfather kit looks quite promising for around $1k.

Hi John

The grainmaster does look great for the price, but I should be able to set my system up including fridge and kegs for around $800

I may use an electric element to preheat the water before I mash-in, means I can set it up to be ready to mash-in when I wake up. My brother-in-law is a sparky so he can help out with deals and wiring etc.

Money is always tight in the single-income world so I am going to be buying bits and pieces and building things up over the next few months.
