I pitched some US-05 into the fermenter late on Sunday night and it's now 2 days later with no signs of bubbling through the airlock. It was an all grain batch. The temperature was a little high when I pitched it at 27C but since then it has been sitting between 18-20C . I didn't rehydrate it either but I've never had it take this long to start before. Has this happened to anyone else?

If I doesn't start soon I guess I might have to add another packet of yeast

Have you checked the gravity? As some times it can be fermenting away fine but shows no bubbling in the airlock.

That seems to be it thanks. OG was 1.046 and it's now 1.032. I'm not sure how the co2 is escaping though, everything is on tight

First thing is to check the gravity, I've had a few that look stalled but are running along just fine.  I had the same with an American Ale II this weekend but didn't fire until yesterday, roaring away now though.  That or it's a really active bacteria strain :)
