Hey folks, I was just wondering if anyone out there had a decent report for Dunedin tap water so I can work out the hardness, etc.
I've already got one report from the council, but it's not very helpful at all... It only really states chlorine, pH and some microbiological stuff.
If anyone can help me that'd be awesome!
Cheers

The report no good from southernbrewers?
I was just searching on the councils web site for that exact information. (with no success)

I'll keep looking and post it here if I find it if you do the same.
James means this
Yep that's it, the first post, which I see you posted in the second page Steve:

Hardness would be 57.4 g/M3 (as CaCO3 + SO4 at a guess)

Is anyone able to help me out here? Are there any Dunedin Brewers around that could help me with a water profile?

The above link doesn't work any longer.

Thanks.

on the hunt for the same thing emailed a guy peter brownie at the dcc on friday.

No water profile but my name twin!

Sweet I'd really appreciate if you posted if he helps you out.

ha! its inevitable we have a brew off! will post up what he comes back with

Thanks Hophound.

I can't seem to find on the DCC website what areas are served by what source. I'm in Andy Bay so I wouldn't think I would be too different from what you've got....

No, it might be very different. I am in Maia. There are many different water sources. Contact Gerard McCombie at the above email if you want to know for sure though. If I remember correctly it will cost you around $100 it you want to get a water analysis done. Worth it. Makes all the difference knowing what you are starting with.
