Quick question

I ordered 5kgs of grain a month ago and havn't been able to use it yet. Hopefully this weekend I can finally put it to use. Its crushed grain, so at a month old is it good to use or good to biff?

Thanks

I'd use it if its been stored well. It might not be the best you ever make but it should certainly be drinkable.

hi I left a bag of crushed grain (a Kolsch mix) for a year and brewed it.It was not the best Ive brewed but did not last long,

you have only got your time to lose ;-)  what are you making out of curiosity?

Jackos question is the one, stored nice and airtight will be 'ok'
I remember buying some crushed grain a few years ago and brewing extract and grains it was only good for about three months, after that it was bad beer and I binned the rest

Its been stored in the bag it arrived in so its probably not the most airtight solution. @Darren are you saying im going to be wasting my time using it? and im making an ale with NZ hops nothing too difficult. I might just have to use it.

Cheers Guys

Hop the shit out of it to cover any off notes :-D

IIRC three months is usually regarded as the limit for crushed grains.

Sweet cheers man. I was planning to go pretty big with the hops with this batch. The grain will be used..
