Today I was putting some beer into a rigger/pet bottle from a keg to take over to a friends place to watch the Phoenix (COYN!).

Anyway, noticed that my Corny out fitting was pissing beer out the top... seems like the fitting is leaking rather than the rest of the rig which is surprsing.

Here's the set up:

The red dot indicates where the leak occurred. I was doing it under a little pressure (not a lot) mainly to retain CO2 in the beer. Anyway I was really surprised that this part of the setup gave way!

Thought the tubing would be the first thing to give.

Anyone else experience a leak corny out fitting or am I the only lucky bugger?

Previously this setup has served me quite well.

Cheers,

B

Someone said: "mine constantly 'go' along the seam". So you're not the only one.

No, never seen that, and I've poured a few pints ... Lucky you !

A little off topic... Where did you get the bottle filler fitting and does it work well? How long does it keep the beer fresh for?

It's actually just a doule barbed valve like this:

All I did was find a bottle screw cap and drill a hole to push on to the barb. It fits loosely on which is actually an advantage as it lets the pressure relieve as it fills with the gassy beer.

I am fairly low tech but it works for me.

I'm not sure of the length of freshness - I tend to fill and drink within the day if I do it this way.

I've never had that happen.  You can unscrew that top part with the 'slot' in it.  There's a little o-ring in there.  Maybe it's not seated properly...
