Had similar experiences (not with this company) soon as you ask to many technical questions or request customisations - nothing................

Looks like nice gear though one of the descriptions lists 50 litre homebrew plant as 380volt 10 KW ?

they could do 240 volt,

Hi Guys,

First post here as I am looking to get into the home brew game my self.  Currently collecting parts locally after seriously looking to importing a chinese brewery.  Now I have been in communication with the company from the attached document (Jinan Shendong) and have MASSIVE reservations about them.  The photo shown in the document is a very poorly paint modified photo form another manufacturer (see http://www.lcbrew.com/lcbrew/Epro.asp?Type=35 ).  I have been in contact with both and LC brew sent me hi resolution photos of the excat same rig in the same position so I tend to believe LC brew, plus their communication was significantly better.  On the down side LCbrew quoted the system at 8000 USD + freight.

Interesting I did wonder - looking through Shengdong's website and reading through the list that David posted quite a few things dont seem to add up - just assumed it was lost in translation or something.

Makes you wonder what you would end up with ordering from Shengdong....

Sheng Dong does sound a bit sus, anyway, 8 thousand US still seems pretty inexpensive, I would go up to 100L at least, can't be much more.

hi logan,

its a picture perfect from my quote from jinan, the one you got quoted for $8000 looks great, my initial quote was $15,000, then $4000, $2000 deposit and rest upfront on arrival.

the list doesnt include pumps, description of controller etc so seems a bit dodgy, left out gear to reduce price,

let me know if you want to jointly bring gear in to maybe save cost, i am just getting into this so dont know the pitfalls on the gear.

I have done a bit of direct sourcing from China with engineering companys (plastic mouldings, castings, specific electronic components) for work purposes, but generally we only use suppliers which have local, or at least contactable references, and if in doubt we will choose a more expensive supplier who can provide references.  I have once or twice taken a risk on a supplier and its turned out ok, but do not think I would do it with my own money!

On another note I just received 17 photos form Shendong, you by chance get them also?

This looks similar, its the other site, same site, same suppliers different name, payment by escrow also so your dosh is protected until you get the item,

they have all sorts of shiny stuff, have a search around the website, you'll find someone who will do you a deal

I also got a quote on a really big system, Includes 600L fermentor, 200L MLT's etc.  Interesting if its all legit would basically have micro brewery for 20k USD.  I just built an 80sqm shed, maybe time for a home business :D

If it's all legit, it could add up pretty quickly with remark #3

3. We are responsible for the installation and debugging of the entire equipment, beer brewing technology training and technology transfer. Transportation, food and board, going aboard expenses of our brew master are borne by the customer.
