I have been planning my new brew setup, and have been looking for the best place to buy all my stainless bits. BrewHardware seems to have a great selection of products at a very reasonable price point, and also has a great reputation. However, the shipping cost for my order is sitting at $86, which is a tad much... I tried adding a bunch of stuff to the cart, and the shipping cost seems to plateau at $86.

So this got me to thinking, if adding more stuff doesn't increase freight costs, then a group order would make perfect sense. I would be glad to organise a group buy of fittings, and ship them out to the individuals who partake. If anyone is interested in this, please let me know!

Cheers.

Hey,

Im after a few stainless bits also for a new setup

What sort of time frame were you looking at?

Whenever suits the people willing to do the order, really. I'm not too fussed, as I have to build a control panel as well. Are you looking to purchase your fittings soon?

Nope i'm still working on my design a little so not 100% sure what bits I will need, happy to work in with others wanting to order :) but yep I'm keen

Tilt has suggested we order by the end of November. Does that leave enough time for you to sort out what you need?

Yeah that sounds fine to me

I'm considering some new brew bling too.  Just in time for the Christmas stocking!

Is there an upper limit on size, weight etc. for a shipping from these guys?

Any bulk orders have to watch they don't exceed the import tax/GST limit too.

Ah, yes, tax is definitely a concern. I have been unfortunate enough to get stung before. Although, even if the order was taxed, it could be split up between the buyers, making it a lot less per peson. The other option is buying from Amazon and declaring it as a gift, but they do not stock stainless camlocks, which I really want...

I haven't seen any size limits on orders from BrewHardware, but I imagine that the $86 shipping fee would become more if the order was very large. Bobby (who runs the store) seems to be a great guy to deal with, so maybe I could convince him to declare the order as a gift?

Cool - the best thing is probably to see what people are after and then work out how best to split the order around shipping/tax etc.

I'm keen on some camlocks and other plumbing gear too.  I'm setting up a 3V two tier system but need to put some clear thought towards fittings to make it all work.

Is it worth agreeing to an "order by" date in a few weeks to keep us all to task?  How's the end of November sound?

That sounds good. I have semi-finalised my list, but the extra time would be nice to mull over any other possible setup changes.

Where are you based BTW Clinton?  Are we looking at having to ship bits around NZ once they land?  I'm in Auckland.

I'm in Wellington, so I will have to send you your parts. Are you looking at buying a lot? My list is quite large, so I thought it would most likely be the most cost efficient to get it sent to me.

I'm thinking about 16 or so fittings  - i.e. 6 - 7 connections with a male and female for each plus a few spares for future expansion (HERMS unit).
