The big boys better leave Harringtons Dales and Mikes alone.

Founders have been trying to sell for some time...

Heck I would rather see the big boys buy actual craft breweries and have them making good craft beer and using their distribution channels to get them around NZ than putting out beers that are trying to use the craft beer label but do not have the good beer characteristics to back it up. They only worry is if they then dilute the good craft brewery to make psuedo craft beer...

I see Monkey Wizard is for sale too...

Good point. It would be nice for the big breweries to produce really good beers we can get almost anywhere... but they haven't yet and worse they ruined the ones they did buy (Lemmersons discussion aside).

You make it sound like it's a one sided thing. You can't have a sale without buyer AND seller agreeing. There's no "leaving alone" to be done. If a brewery doesn't want to sell, it won't.

I can only hope that John and the Boys get to keep on with their craft and that that large distribution that Boundary( Inderpendant) are offering, dont move production to a large scale Macs style washout of flavour and ruin the Organic brand HMMMMM

My 1/2 pint for what its worth...I'm with Ralph and Greig on this. Who else was willing to pitch in the coin the Founders is worth?  Congrats to the Duncans, glad to see some of the sweat equity that has been put in over the years has been realised. Since Macs sold I think all will agree the choice and quality of beers available has  made the "ruination" concern pretty moot. There will be more craft brewers and more organic craft brewers and we'll all be better for it, sales just improve the economic choices for the little guys.
