its great for malt forward beers, english beers etc, I have not tried it in a hoppy beer. I quite like M44 but it has serious lag times... that said no bad results yet....
for liquids 1272 and 090 are goto neutrals and 1469 for english esters
I am drinking an abbey ale 2 B pale ale, its great very subtle
Yea, it's not a yeast for hops
MJ42 New World Strong Ale is good on malt, a little kinder on the hops too.
Short lag times, especially repitches. Quick, like Notts, so it's really good if you need to fill a keg quickly
looks like this is repackaged us 05 still cheap for 15 grams
So a bit of a poll...... constant online home brew...
if you only had 1 keg online what type of beer would it be? if 2 kegs what beers?
mine would be a uk best bitter and an american pale ale, i like lower % beers on tap...
1 keg - NZ IPA
2 kegs - NZ IPA + various depending on season and mood NZ Pils, Belgian Blonde, Tripel, Red IPA
... and always an annual RIS in bottles.
This year maybe a Pilsner
Last year probably an XPA
Before that maybe an APA
Year before a hoppy porter
Somewhere back, a mild
Next year ?
Second keg, one of the above
Just kegged a psuedo NZ Pils calling it "Little Pils" because it's kiwi and it rocks.

thinking about a lunatic soup attempt , NZ Syrian... massive dry hop like 400g for the 20L batch.....
After tasting this beer it seems a little thin which suprised me. It's the first time I've brewed this using all NZ malts. I'm thinking the recipe might need tweaking to increase the amount of Gladiator to 500g or increase the mash temp from 67C to 68C.
I treated Gladiator as a straight swap for CarPils but I'm now reviewing that. Anyone noticed anything similar?
Brewing with the same hops, different schedule, in a kit for Baylands 350
Sauvin at 60
Mot at 10
Mot and Riwaka at 1
Mot Riwaka and Sauvin dry
really nice combo
what yeast did you use?
surprising but many NZ Pils brewed with ale yeast commercially for quicker turnaround
FRESH LIQUID YEAST!!!
