Beer tasting dinner with Chuck Hahn

I went to a beer tasting dinner at the Novtel Perth on Friday night(11 July).
Chuck Hahn was the host we had 4 courses with a range of the James Squires & other beers.
We had scallops with mushrooms & truffle oil matched with Toohey's extra dry & Heineken.
Salmon with Squire's pilsener, hmmmmm LOVE that Pilsener
Beef cheeks & jus with Squire's Pepperbery Ale & IPA, it was the first public tasting of the Pepperberry. Thumbs up for the Pepperberry too
Finally a chocolate pudding with Squire's Porter & Mad Brewers raspberry wheat beer. I'm not normally a big fan of "flavoured" beers but gradually my more conservative view is faltering. Feral Brewery in the Swan Valley regularly use a range of adjuncts for supplementary flavoyrs their strawberry porter was worth a mention.
I've always wanted to go to one of those beer dinners but the budget hasn't always been up to it, I'm hooked now great food a good range of beers & a fantastic night out too.
Chuck Hahn is a really nice guy & easy to talk to.
