Hi There,

We have some brewing equipment that was inherited with the sale of the Gibbston Tavern. This used to be the "roaring 40s brewery" from Stewart Island. If anyone could shed some light on the approximate value of the equipment would be fantastic. This would help us determine what we will do with it. You can find more pictures on our page.

Thanks in advance

a hard wrestle with the local authorities to get all the paperwork done - and now the dream came true.

Today we are launching the facebook page and getting first ton of beer out of the door.

Four beers - stout, IPA, buckwheat ale, saison. All beers are brewed exclusively with local ingredients, with generous rye addition in each one (rye is a traditional ingredient here).

We are tiny - 300l brewlength and produce only bottled beer. All handmade, in the best tradition of home/nanobrewing, and with provocative name - TRYE beer.

I would be thrilled to share my beers with NZ community, but it is too early to think about exports )))

Please help me getting some starting kick by liking the brewery page

Some buddies and I are looking at trying to start a microbrewery, but seeing as we have never done such a thing we are sifting through all the regulations and such.

For you pro's out there, which laboratories do you use for testing your alcohol content to satisfy the Custom's regulations?

Hello friendly brewers.

I like to make beer and I've convinced my company that brewing our own beer and giving it away is a great idea. Suckers.

But I've found it hard to find someone willing to help us, I can only make 25L plus all the licensing issues etc....

I'm looking to produce around 200L (or a bit more) and be involved in the process (so we can really say "we brewed that.... with a little help".)

Any leads on someone who might be able to help out?…

Hi all,

As at least a few members of this forum will've heard, I'm planning on starting up a small (nano-scale) commercial brewery on returning to NZ later this month.

I have (I think) sorted out the legal requirements and sourced all the big gear (brewhouse, fermenters, pumps, temp control gear, mill, etc.) Which has got me to the point of wondering about where to get all the little stuff. I'm talking hoses, S/S fittings, cleaning/sanitising chemicals, CO2, carb stones,…

I've done a lot of googling, and found a few answers, but would appreciate advice from folks who are already in the market.

Anyone have any advice on commercial suppliers of these items in NZ?

Hi,

I have only been living in NZ for the last few years and am unfamiliar with all that is required to start a business in NZ, let alone a brewery.

I'm interested in starting a nano-brewery in the far north and am looking to spend the minimum amount while I test the market and if all works out expand later.

Does anyone know what the steps are to become legal? Would I be able to sell on site or is that a totally different license? Just wondering how much red tape there…

The brewhouse is one year old and is still under warranty for another year. It will be available for uplift from Wellington in early - mid November. Reason for selling - we need a bigger boat! We're upgrading to a larger system also with Premier. Overall we have been extremely happy with this brewhouse but it is simply not large enough to meet our needs. Would make for an ideal entry level brewery or brewpub system.

Premier are aware of the sale and we can provide a contact there to discuss full system specs and to provide quotes for any other miscellaneous equipment you may need that we will be holding onto - mill, keg washer, FV's etc.

Serious inquiries only please. Would really suit a purchaser in Australia or New Zealand.
